Health Talks – Alissa Sadler Recap

Optimizing Online Tool Use
Part of a series recapping Health Talks: Bold Ideas to Transform Health Care. Ten inspiring speakers, comprising a blend of health care providers and the public, used the Pecha Kucha-powered 20 x 20 format (20 slides, 20 seconds each) to answer our question: What are your hopes for a better health care system?

Alissa Sadler is a social media guru. She is the Social Media Manager at Signals Design Group, after all. Out of all the night’s speakers, Alissa probably stuffed the most content into her presentation. Her hope was that we continue to leverage online tools to collaborate and build communities around health and towards a better health care system. She also revealed one of the most eye-opening facts of the night: that it takes 17 years to get evidence to practice.

Graphic Illustration
Graphic facilitator Avril Orloff transformed the Health Talks speakers’ words into brilliant illustrations. Her visual interpretations, which she steadily sketched beside the audience on a giant posterboard, captured compelling moments of each presentation over many different topics. Alissa’s graphic is displayed to the left.
