The JCCs sponsored the registration fees, travel and sessional for any practicing physician within BC who wished to attend “The Power of Togetherness” pre-Forum event.

This pre-Forum event, hosted in partnership with the Joint Collaborative Committees (JCCs), focused on “The Power of  Togetherness.” Physicians, health care providers, policy leaders, patients and others came together to demonstrate projects focused on themes of alignment, integration and collaboration, and the positive impact of these approaches on our health care system.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Through a series of rapid fire presentations and storyboards, participants had the opportunity to delve into the nuts and bolts of a wide range of featured projects supported by the JCCs. Participants learned what worked, what didn’t, what’s needed for spread and sustainability, what resources can be shared to save time and avoid duplication and practical strategies for success. Attendees also had opportunities to connect and network with colleagues about the power of partnerships to improve integration of our health care system.

Keynote Speaker

The JCCs were pleased to welcome keynote speaker, Dr Trevor Hancock, an award winning public health physician and health promotion consultant, to present:

“Sharing Care with Whom? Thinking In and Outside the Healthcare Box”

This engaging presentation showcased Dr. Hancock’s thoughts on the question, “How much does healthcare contribute to health?”, and provided his insights on ‘bottom down’ healthcare, the social and ecological determinants of health, social prescribing and much more.
